Outdoor Sports | Indoor Sports | Children's Facilities | Food & Beverage | Other Facilities Members of Nomad Sports Club enjoy a wide range of facilities that cater not just to sports participation, but also to other recreational activities. The grounds in Merville Park occupy over 2 hectares of parkland. The absence of any high-rise in the vicinity ensures that a refreshing pollution-free breeze ensures the comfort of patrons virtually every day and evening. Existing facilities are as follows: OUTDOOR SPORTS Playing Field: A central feature of Nomad's is the large, multi-purpose playing field. Even through the driest period, the grass is kept in good condition using its own irrigation system. Recently, a professional field lighting system was installed allowing night games to be played. The playing field hosts the following sports: (Click on sport of interest). Soccer Ladies Soccer Rugby Cricket Field Hockey Softball Lawn Bowling Green: Since the sections debut at international level, lawn bowling has found increasing popularity among all members. The recent addition of lighting has allowed games to be played in the cool of the evenings. Tennis Courts: Nomad's has two shell-based courts, both of which have lighting to allow play in the evenings. Swimming Pool: Nomad's boasts a half-Olympic swimming pool for both the serious or recreational swimmer. Around the pool are shaded tables to provide a pleasant setting to enjoy a meal from the kitchen. INDOOR SPORTS The following indoor sports are catered to within the facilities: Squash: Nomad's has two squash courts catering to not just the individual players but also a very active section competition. Badminton: For badminton enthusiasts, currently there is one court, but a second is planned for the near future. Table Tennis: A table tennis table is provided for members enjoyment. Pool/Billiards: A pool table is provided for either serious competition or just a relaxing game. CHILDRENS FACILITIES Nomad recognizes that active sportsmen and women are of the age that they are probably parents. For them to enjoy their visit to the club, it is important that their children to also look forward to the experience. The following facilities are provided to ensure that our members children are kept amused: Swimming Pool: Abutting the main swimming pool is the children's pool that graduates in depth from ankle deep to three feet. A life-guard is in attendance throughout the swimming period. Adventure Playground: Continually shaded by trees, a large adventure playground that includes climbing frames, platform and even a rope bridge is in constant use. The trampoline, with its safety net surround attracts many while, for the very young, a number of plastic play-houses are there for their pleasure and fun. At Nomad's they can run and play until they drop. FOOD AND BEVERAGE There are two bars within the club, both open-aired. One at the swimming pool/tennis court area for the convenience of patrons there. This bar also has the convenience of Sky Cable television. The main bar overlooks the playing field and has a large television with Dream satellite connection that allows members to enjoy major international sporting events live. The club has its own kitchen where a variety of meals and snacks are prepared. Selection can be made from an extensive menu and food is supplied at competitive prices. There is always something to appeal to every member of the family. CAR PARKING Nomad's has ample space for the parking of vehicles. Members have exclusive se of the most convenient parking spaces, while non-members are also provided for.
